No fishing, only photos
Kelby’s photowalk 2019 in Galveston gifted us a great sunset in a pleasant Texan evening well worth the few miles. We met with the guys from BAPC (Bay Area Photo Club) and joined the stroll: Galveston knows how to entertain tourists and locals and we felt more on a vacation than just at the start […]

Monday Window
For the #MondayWindow fans, this picture taken in the beautiful Galveston while taking part to the Scott Kelby’s 2019 photo walk. I liked the contrast of the two buildings’ style while the incoming sunset painted a nice orange and blue palette. Taken with Canon 5d Mark III, 24-105 f/4. Post pro in Luminar3.

Back to the Park – Cool Edits and new Software
We are back to the US after a vacation that was just too short. Early July in Italy was great and late July in Houston is incredibly mild, very pleasant especially in the evening. This won’t last and the triple digit will be back soon. Better I take the camera for a quick tour just […]

Cheryl’s
Cheryl is a small restaurant in Fulton, a town close to Corpus Christi: somewhere Marta read that in the summer of 2017 when hurrican Harvey landed, Cheryl’s was one of the few structures that survived or at least, that was not wiped away. One year and a half after that disaster, Fulton and the surrounding […]

Peace and Love
Thanks to ‘FunNight Photography Houston’ for organizing the #peaceandlove photoshoot in Houston’ East End Graffiti Park. We went there with almost no idea or previous experience and we did not know the organizers either (yes, Marta&Ruggero style!). As we parked the car it was immediately clear that that place had something ‘special’. Graffiti Park is […]

September’s gone – Houston’s Strong
Temperatures dropped 40 degrees in a couple of weeks meaning that the hurricane season is over. September’s gone (also October!) and this year no harm to Houston: Harvey’s memory still hurts but ‘HoustonStrong‘ is not just another slogan, it’s the way Texans live their lives. I chose this picture as a symbol of strength: it […]

Feed the Vultures…part 2: the Bayou
Who needs a park when the Bayou is there? Wake-up early and cameras ready: will we see an alligator in its own habitat, eventually?? A beautiful heron rests at the side of the pier, undisturbed by our presence. Beautiful, but not what we are looking for…. We must push ourselves more in depth towards the […]

Feed the Vultures…part 1: the Park
The Texan dangerous fauna has always been one of the main concerns here. Saudi Arabia did not have much more than what we were used to in Italy and in 3 years we have not seen anything that could represent a risk to us other than a few packs of dogs around the compound. But […]

Frida’s day – street photography session
The weekend has been planned by Marta: her choice is hard for me to accept but I don’t have alternatives. Unfortunately she found a couple of internet sites about Houston activities, with particular emphasis on the weekends: this means good-bye to the relaxing sofa and welcome to… Frida’s day in Houston! Of course the focus […]

Houston Carnival
The Carnival arrived in Houston and we got two tickets for…the World Championship BBQ Contest. Not exactly what a vegetarian like Marta dreams about. In fact it’s been a fantastic show with amazing people, lights and music and we had a great night there! Oh, yes, the BBQ was good too! …Take my baby to […]
