The project ‘Return to Turin’ is about the perception of familiar places in my hometown and how this perception has evolved after 10-20 and, in this case, 40 years.
RtT Summer 2024 is a set of pictures taken during a walk along the road from my mother’s home to my Elementary school. I keep memories of that school and the nearby church carved in my brain’s depths. I consider those hills the most beautiful part of the city where my mind often goes even today when I am thousands of miles away.
Photographically speaking, I chose my Fuji XT3 and the 35mm f/1.4 prime lens, in an effort not to filter the spontaneity of the feelings. Almost all pictures, but one or two, have zero post process other than BW conversion which was kept very neutral. For the reasons above, RtT Summer 2024 will not appeal to everyone and is part of a more personal set.
