The House of Blues is one of the most famous place, not just in Houston. Live music and very friendly staff and customers make the experience a ‘must do’ if you are a foreigner downtown.

Barge 295, in Seabrook is probably the craziest of the lot: eat, dance and listen to music right on a barge makes a strange effect and we could not find anything of the kind so far anywhere else.

The spots above where our favorites for Fridays or Saturdays when we felt open to adventures and willing to see what’s out there. On Sunday mornings, when all you need is a cozy place to get a hot coffee (Americano) and a donut, well, our refuge was one: Ashley in Clear Lake.

Ashley was the place where ‘Closing Time’ took place and also where we met the girl in the bunny pijama – which would deserve to have a meme if only I was more into these gen Z web kind of things.
