Closing down 2023 – the other Pisa
The other day, I returned to Pisa by accident, almost ten years after the last time. Our flight back to Manchester was super early in the morning, so we decided to spend the night there and get a few hours of sleep the next morning. In the evening, we went for a stroll that was a joy for our eyes: for some reason, I always remembered the city with its alleys and streets around Piazza dei Miracoli as a kind of insignificant optional to the wonder of the Leaning Tower, the Baptistery, the Cemetery, and the Cathedral.
This post is to make amends for my misjudgment: the wonderful sight of the Lungarno Pisano with colors and reflections that a cloudy day brought to us as a farewell gift! Goodbye 2023!
